Project Metria

Extraterrestrial Settlement, Aborted

Disclaimer; Reason for Project Abort

After an alert involving the threat of a disconnect between the universe and the external reality, all human residents of Planet Metria were evacuated. See Reference #2, Space Station Evacuation.

Relevance

Project Metria, more commonly referred to as Project Mazer City, was Mazer Labs' plan to construct a functioning and psuedo-autonomous city on an exoplanet. The goal of the project was to create a habitable and privately-owned city, similar to cities on Earth, without the progress-inhibitive policies of modern politics. Due to the mass evacuation of employees from the nonvoxel external reality, Mazer City was left abandoned, likely presently inhabited by only ######## (see ########).

Original Plan

Project Metria, more commonly referred to as Project Mazer City, was Mazer Labs' plan to construct a functioning and psuedo-autonomous city on an exoplanet. The goal of the project was to create a habitable and privately-owned city, similar to cities on Earth, without the progress-inhibitive policies of modern politics. Planet Metria, a planet mostly mostly composed of a rocky regolith similar to that of Mars, similar in size of Earth (thus resulting in a gravitational acceleration approximately 10 m/s), and similar atmospheric composition (approximately 73% nitrogen, 26% oxygen, and 1% miscellaneous gases), proved to be a perfect planet to construct a human-suitable colony. Construction of temporary living quarters began first, during ####-##-##, then the construction of office buildings began shortly after. After the construction of office buildings, construction of a semi-subterranean laboratory complex continued, as well as city infrastructure, such as streets and city lighting (see Reference #1 for construction details). When the construction of the city was completed on ####-##-##, approximately 500 employees moved into the city. The city would be able to contain roughly 10,000 residents. Mazer City would be Mazer Labs' first public release of extradimensional travel, and plans were arranged to allow US citizens to rent property in Mazer City.

Projects on Planet Metria

Below is a list of projects and experiments done in the laboratory complex of Mazer City.

This portion of the document was recently declassified as directed by the Board of Directors. The following is a log of emergency and city-wide announcements made in Mazer City at the time of the evacuation.

2001-02-15 17:56 PST, Dr. Aleksi in San Bernardino: Attention to all residents of Mazer City and the remaining posts on Planet Metria, we are experiencing issues with the External Reality Connections. While there is no evacuation order set in place, we would like you to prepare for evacuation.

2001-02-16 01:30 PST, Dr. Aleksi in San Bernardino: Attention to all residents of Mazer City, we are undergoing evacuation protocols. All city trolleys are reprogrammed to take inhabitants to Post #1. When you arrive, wait for your turn to enter the portal and return to our universe.

2001-02-16 01:38 PST, Dr. Villa in Mazer City: To those working in the ######### #######, follow standard procedures to handle #########. Do not let emotional attachment distract you from the evacuation protocols.

2001-02-16 01:49 PST, Dr. Villa in San Bernardino: If trolleys are malfunctioning, reach Post #1 on foot. Do not bring ######### with you. Do not let emotional attachment coerce you to break standard procedure.

2001-02-16 02:31 PST, Dr. Aleksi in San Bernardino: The ERC are at risk of disconnection. This is your only ability to return to our universe. Reach Post #1 as soon as possible.

All Mazer Labs ERC stations have lost contact of Planet Metria at 2001-02-14 04:04 PST. All residents of Mazer City returned to Earth relatively unharmed.
